BEING ONE

Feel not safe by the numbers
Nor comforted by the crowd
Nor by the growing members
Nor by those noticeably loud

Being secure is to withstand
When embodied with a will
With nothing ill; underhand
(Quietly peaceful so fulfilled)

WELL-RECEIVED

How much of a listener are you
(Understood perfectly what you heard)
Without interrupting; have continued
Careful to properly interpret every word

How much of a reader have become
(Not being from reading easily distracted)
Being able to relate when you’re done
Keeping in essence of what was extracted

LABOUR-PAINS

Only a job good enough; satisfies
As well its monetary compensation
Parts to the employee that dignifies
So too to its company; organisation

Only such would breed enthusiasm
Encourage the desired camaraderie
Under such auspices; such dynamism
Of counter-production; not found any

CONVERSELY

Converse not only to defend an opinion
But be opened; you may have it changed
Similarly not to win; to establish dominion
But be prepared to have yours re-arranged

CONDITIONALLY

Tradition arises out of a collective phase
When to a group emerges accepted norms
Of which no later enlightenment could erase
(So strong the will; the obligation to conform)

Left unexplored tradition provides a blindfold
End-resulting in wasted efforts and activities
Potential of free-thinking but to rigidly mould
Generating; maintaining many false identities

TRANQUILIZED

Of God and man: Who is required to respond
Between the two: Whom really of greater need
To whom does dire circumstances daily summon
And whom must ultimately to the other; yield

Of God and man which (one) can exist without
Yet for the other regardedly has a greater love
Which one really knows what is life all about
Even knows what the other is dreaming of

Which, has his responsibilities, so forsakened
That he takes not his deeds into full account
Thus to his current dilemma still not awakened
Addressing the issues in down-sized amounts

DISCLAIMER

Nothing scriptural warrants physical celebrations
Of over-indulgence; substance abuse and gluttony
Any of omen or solemnity need no such observation
Nor of the attempts to achieve thus, commercially

Scriptural celebrations are for spiritual upliftment
First, by the careful preparation of body and mind
Confirmed by a realisation of an evident fulfilment
Which of deeper faith and belief serves to remind

STILL-BIRTH

You are now celebrating someone’s birth
(Have been doing so come several years)
With goodwill to fellow man: Peace on earth
With remembrance of all (both far and near)

But why such an excitement over His birth
When of “peace”; of “goodwill” no evidence
And when of such, only of a material worth
And of substitute, hype and much pretence

UNFULFILLED?

How much of your religion is daily applicable
How much of contemporary life does it reveal
Depicts global events as if set to a time-table
How much thus your religion from you conceal

Does your religion allow of you God’s possession
To you foster God’s principles; His ultimate plans
Incorporate personal will (Of its comprehension)
Despite skin colour; be at peace with every man

DISORIENTED

What if Christmas, today, was celebrated likewise
As humble; as sober (as did) at the birth of Christ
(Like then) With only the journey of those; wise
With only one star to them; guide: (Others, entice)

THE LONG WAY AROUND

I daily express myself in both reason and rhyme
In founded opinions, accurate accounts; in analysis
Referring to the past as it contributes present time
(The progression of mankind to the current paralysis)

I ably use the dynamics of my own live experiences
Coupled with my formal education (Used to that end)
First, thoroughly understanding life’s inconveniences
That resisted my own breakage; instead would mend

Seldom avoiding the numerous situations thus arisen
Taking journeys viewed abnormal; of total non-convention

REAL FUN

When last have you had pure enjoyment
The kind that invites a sweet tiredness
The type (for high spirits) so do augment
Without any (of company) perceivably less

Where can I in-sickness or in-health

OBSCENE GESTURE

Obama convinced the electorate that he was right
And of proper choice in-spite of his ethnicity
To the elected office, the very first non-white
Such to an old equation a brand-new entity

The electorate (objective out of desperate need)
Abandoned all the former, subjective criteria
Just content to have stop their financial bleed
Opportunity thus born out of sheer hysteria

The main ingredient was need turned expectancy
(With the spectators, of those dynamics, their own)
What type of adult will survive such grave infancy
Where just before “Bail-out” Obama, came loans

WASTE NOT

For everything wasted there will be “pay”
Especially waste of time and opportunity
Of all the “musts” so changed to “mays”
And in the engineering of such activities

For everything gone wasted someone pays
For there is always someone of responsibility
However inert; too slow to act; too little say
And those caught exploring those possibilities

OF THE TWO

Parenting should not only consist of a great emphasis
But also equal sharing of “providence” and “availability”
In a diligent, on-going, consultive review and analysis
With explorative in-roads leading to enhanced capability

Any disproportionate discharge of those responsibilities
May bring-out undesirable traits of young personality
Unless a lead-by-example of personal affection; of duties
-Of the two resulting to an enriched, overall commonality

FOR GOODNESS SAKE

Goodness not of a disciplined encouragement
Will never come to be appreciated ; even such
Any such act ignoring room for self-improvement
Eventually cannot ever really amount to much

For true goodness makes no cheap hand-outs
Even when transacted from a parent to child
If not shown how from where under; how out
If not on such foundations most heavily piled

FINAL RESORT

No one can take you where you don’t want to go
Nor alter any plan; attempt to turn your life around
Neither can they take away from what you already know
That you afreshly seek having confirmed, that unsound

No one can remove from such triggered deliberations
That brought to this point where you mentally plateau
Where have arrived; in the precedence of generations
But from where you’d like to; inevitably wish, outgrow

Everything inside urges by the felt deep dissatisfaction
That this is surely, by any measure, not meant any rest
And with nothing new offered by current interactions
Just maybe it can (must?) thus be spiritually addressed

NO LETTING-UP

The undertow of the troubled American economy
Awaits not the president-elect’s inauguration
Nor do the prohibitive costs (That’s not Iraqi’s)
Nor those aiding and abetting a different opinion

The contributory situations will not behave well
In accordance with any schedule or given timetable
(There is no break in engagement at sound of bell)
And no mercy or concession if found unfit or unable

The relevant dynamics will not evidently turn static
For t’is the very characteristic of all inter-related
Nor can they by any be conned, fooled or tricked
(For precisely thus have they become so complicated)

SELF-TAUGHT

Have you yet encouraged yourself to experience God?
(But in every way you may have perceived Him to be)
To be conscious of Him whether “in-favour” or “at-odds”
In daily efforts of consistent but humble sobriety

To mind Him by sincere interpersonal transactions
(Trusting yourself as you would have others trust you)
To be hastily honest in every; all such interactions
And have association with such, however too few

God dwells easily within such thoughts and actions
And of their outcomes and dynamics take full control
Life then a blessing (divinely approved and sanctioned)
And even before as yet as noticeably so thrives the soul

MASKED

National economies, the world over
Are currently, systematically being unleashed
What appears disorder masks a fresh order
As autonomy to every nation gets within reach

Every economy (no matter large or small
Will become independent of a single, main
Will not by such caused to ‘‘rise” or “fall”
So to own fidelity bound and to so, remain

JUST DIFFERENT

In a different country is no better; no less;
It makes only of a different nationality
(Certainly of a different flavour of what life attests)
Maybe of making a living a different responsibility

‘Though different the contributions; equal the stress
So too equal both satisfaction and anxieties

For in-content true contributions remain hidden
But in-process they do emerge equally as strong
Focus not what is allowed and/or forbidden

My true thoughts are cheerful, longing and deep
But my surface of much shallow anxieties
So am I much lesser by such company I keep
So trade much simple for burdensome complexities

The true me is indeed cheerful and deep

Pretending virtuous where otherwise a calamity

Quite frankly I live in a world of make-believe

Proof God exists lay in every practical, realistic way
That pleads guilty to no ill act or any term of dishonesty

And to so passively become; of others as Him so self-appoint
So do all thus become disoriented; all hopelessly displaced

FOUNDation

Mostly in our “lost” situations are we “found”
Decidedly defining character and personality
Either in principles upright or else unsound
Shaping and forming each’s individuality

Mostly when all seems lost are we found
Derived from the considerations of our mind
Like any written text ; so covered, so bound
So do we pro-act; re-act with deeds in-kind

Its by these situations are we socially engineered
Much depending on what, from them, is extracted
For remaining life so appropriately un or prepared
(Compounding which) so become fully contracted

CUSTOMIZED

Learn to rely on your own lived experiences
Better-still on the knowledge thereby derived
From all adversity; the varied inconveniences
And as equally on all favoured; all that thrived

Learn to depend on such conclusive packages
For ‘though of same profile as offered advice
Comes fully tailored to your fit; full advantage
Advice; only like appearance; of different size

Saying that you love me; what do exactly mean
What ideas; what pictures pop-up in your head
Paint for me such pictures; describe the scenes
Tell me what other words could be used instead

With pure choice in the Garden was Adam tasked
And by Eve prompted to make an absolute decision
In consideration was what, of them, God had asked
And too what the Devil (through Eve) had propositioned

The outcome (as familiar) was first sin then out- casted
But just how do we fare, in-principle, contemporarily
When by our own “wisdom” just as cunningly outsmarted
And when so taken-charge failed as but miserably

UN-NAMED STORMS

Most relationships are not of equal basis
Integral the factors of “better” and “less”
To changing needs hence different phases
Interjecting discord to the whole process

Some do strain towards a call of equality
Mostly marriages in their different forms
But only those ring “true” in their quality
Once faring through each other’s storms

ONCE PEOPLE, …

Two ethnicities of colour hopelessly opposed
-That muddies every aspect of their existence
Non-admittedly but of this dutifully composed
In full contrast to all their religious insistence

What motivates you through each day

Is it for fear of what others might say
And/or is it of individual or conspired

Whether so or not how heavily relied

Poverty is a term within the relationship of wealth
It implies as “less” the situations of meagre accumulations
It provides a crucible within which other values smelt
Where total value of equal being hinges on indignation

Poverty wilfully over-rides the value of upright character
Thus too it ignores education level and of proficiency
It invites stupidity and gullibility as its equal partners
And carefully managed to artfully maintain its buoyancy

Just how well (poor?) will do our currency
Once to the U.S. economy we’re no longer tied
When thus, true value is affixed to our money
When on such relevancies no longer must rely

How well (poor?); be it speculation (guess?)
What are the chances that we’ll be worst-off
Will then fall into; be relieved of current mess
Or would it a time marked as having had enough

From my employer; a small basic pay
The remainder; gathered from those around
Mostly small increments obtained various ways
Mostly from those economically as unsound

My employer provides me a daily mean
Wherein sits my own fund-raising activities
Facilitated by a set of transactions laid in-between
Gaining me favour and popularity as amenities

IN THIS LOCALITY

The challenge to our forces is to non-violently apprehend
And to negotiate a proper package of benefits; better pay
To explain to inconvenienced citizens to better comprehend
When they are stopped, searched or in various ways, delayed

They are further challenged to obtain statements and confessions
Using every legal process to them or to request new if non-available
Making -do without the terrorism commonly referred investigations
Moving towards a mentality and orientation requiring truly capable

COMMON GROUND

God’s nature and characteristics remain evident
-In every person of religion: Even those without
Motivated by reasonable unrest; such discontent
(By any upright suspicion of what’s life not about)

To so navigate through life in its daily offerings
Will bring all (of any pursuit) to common ground
So too into perspective daily ills and sufferings
Experientially highlight all beliefs held; unsound

EVALUATION

What is the monetary value of sound advice
How long before gets broken; time to discard
How monetarily evaluated those words so wise
And how (if possible) monetarily such rewards

VICTIM-EYES

The sacrifice of love can be equated to life
Felt just as deeply (regardless of what relationship)
When everything fulfilling ; once well within sight
Becomes lost to some impending dictatorship

The victim(s) however gravely hurt may heal
But tend to do so with some linked deformity
Either to which must attend or if left concealed
To have it manifest later in its full enormity

And an exercise of avoidance of slightest compression

The world gets stranger; more unfamiliar
The deeper one dives into yesterday
The more one looks; much longer linger
With nothing to be found to match today

Those values, those beliefs; forever gone
Of them remain no evidence nor of any proof
On your way out too (If that’s all you’re on)
In the slightest reluctance to follow-suit

It becomes a simple choice of wilful trade
(Either rigidly reserved or flexibly relate)
With only uncertainty as a navigational aid
