HOSPITALISED

Planet earth is now as medical patient
Administered remedies; offered care
Its populace but in a ward just adjacent
Knowing that into but own fate; stare

Will original health recover to re-instate
As did ably facilitate all its inhabitants
Or as any of high dependency of debate
To certainty of outcome; inconsistent

INSTINCTIVELY

But for the wisdom of a dedicated few
We sink steadily in a sea of ignorance
A ship set adrift with a drunken crew
Within currents of similar compliance

But for the wisdom of so founded few
Inadequately respond to each upheaval
For to the root causes not even a clue
But upon a mere suspicion of abnormal

ON CHANGE

The opportunity for change is nearly all but gone
With little left but the hopeful opportunists
And all who would welcome change have learned
That real change is the last thing on the list

The opportunity for change had come; has gone
Stayed behind is the same status quo calamity
Hoped agent of change has none desired; earned
Change graduated but for a referral non-entity

HOME GROWN

Lawlessness has been thrust upon us
So much; we now contribute to its care
Operating in the blindspot of our trust
Certainly caught us: Left us unprepared

Lawlessness but at home nay overseas
Preying on insecurity and/or sentiments
Propagating under a guise that she frees
Afforded similarly elected governments

LOCKED-DOWN

What is the price of kept company
How many ways are made to pay
When without; when with money
Thus prevented from thine way

What are the dues to kept company
What then the benefits to befall
How does it contribute your identity
How satisfying to most inner call

BOARD GAMES

Global chess has been changed; monopoly
Consistent with singular control of the board
Where losers are of controlled opportunity
Encouraged to partake in most ill can afford

Former chess pieces have become charms
In the changed game but to (at best) survive
With only the winner the right to bear arms
The losers contented being spared their lives

EXECUTIVE BROKERAGE

Main Street adorns in an embroidered straight-jacket
Imposed by the actions of Wall Street to wear
But whose extravagant lifestyle and super pay-packets
Brunt of which was left Main Street must bear

A hole was thus covered with strips of bail-out paper
Across which most of Main Street must walk
Thin platform on which to spring international caper
Echoing in a chasm over which America talks

IF, BELIEVING

God never created freaky weather
Nor the aftermath of spills and kills
His; of a symbiotic, ecological order
Sustained necessarily; founded will

God never: Believing indeed is such
Intended for man to be destructive
Discard useful legs for every crutch
In causing end to be as competitive

SUPER ERA

Here is an age of extreme superlatives
Nothing but the worst or at very best
Of disgust or pleasing; communicative
We become the subjects of such tests

Completely immersed in superlatives
We express precise and accordingly
In violent outbursts or with sedatives
Thought appropriate as conveniently

PLATEAU

In most of life arise lasting impressions
Offering obvious directives; vivid clarity
To be furthered in those compressions
Followed in like order and such brevity

When ignored but a founded stalemate
Rendered alive but dead by every move
Locked in uncertainty and inner debate
Peace termed and within but quiet feud

FALSE BOTTOM

The gateway to worthwhile knowledge is humility
A bridge of preparedness sincere and true
Without which of inappropriate attitude: Capability
Of a nature that annoys but simply rude

The chasm to worthwhile knowledge is egotistic
A “rush” obtained from the little, known
An air of supremacy; an assumption of a mystic
Such the pitfalls then so hopelessly prone
