LITTLE ELSE

Life’s only purpose and meaning are really God’s
Without Whom so terribly short: All but seeming
Of a persistent emptiness in all attempts “forward”
To grow stale; become flat; actually demeaning

Life’s persistent emptiness is to be filled with God
The reason for such unexplained deep persistence
With whatever else undertaken to become bored
A dull plateau; weary of an unchallenged existence
