As on deaf ears must we beg God as He called us
To alter the course of events designed by our foolish ways
To be better for ourselves, without assuming airs, be righteous
So cease the ill normalcies condsidered of the world, today's
As on deaf ears the consequences of wayward children
Abandoned gracefully as hard lessons to be endured; learned
Of every practical hardship to be kind most unkind grave lessons
To positions and dispositions to have taken but so now yearn
